MASS TIMES FOR TRAVELERS
Travelers looking for Mass times and church locations, go to www.MassTimes.org or call 410-676-6000.
THANK YOU
The
family of Deacon Buddy Bianco wishes to express our deepest gratitude to
everyone who made our final farewell to him a joyous celebration of his life.
For the wake service we thank the Holy Name Society, the Fourth Degree Knights
of Columbus, and everyone who shared memories and stories about his life.
For the Liturgy we thank Fr. Brubaker, Fr. Mc Dermott, the Deacons, altar
servers, vocalists, organist and trumpeters. Thanks to the many volunteers who
dedicated their time and effort to prepare and serve an abundance of food that
was enjoyed by all.
What a delight it was to see a separate table full of desserts so
appropriately named "Buddy's Table"; we know that he would have
approved!
We appreciate all who accompanied us to the burial site and the men who
served as pall-bearers.
Words cannot adequately express our thanks to everyone for their overwhelming
show of Love, support and fellowship, which has been such a comfort to us during
this difficult time. We truly will miss the smile on his face and the joy
that he brought to all who knew him, but we are confident in knowing that Jesus
welcomed him into heaven with these words: "Well done, thou good and
faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee
ruler over many things: enter thou into the Joy of thy Lord." Many
thanks again and God Bless you all.

FOLLOWING ST. PAUL
The Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians was written by St. Paul probably around the year 60 A.D. while he was in prison. He founded this church during his second missionary journey (this story is found in Acts 16: 12-10). The primary reason for writing is to thank the people of Philippi for the contribution they sent him. This letter is filled with words that express Paul’s feelings about the Philippians – warmth, affection and thankfulness. The whole letter turns around the theme of joy which is found only in having a fellowship with Christ, a dynamic relationship that comes from knowing that God has started a good work in us and he will continue to complete it until the end of time. Memorize: Phil 1: 21. In 1:27 and chapter 2, Paul invites us to conduct our life in a way worthy of the Gospel of Christ. One way of doing that is by living unselfishly. A good way to start living this way is to esteem others as more important than ourselves.

ANGER MANAGEMENT
Anger is a natural, emotional response to someone when we believe that he/she has done something wrong, unfair, unjust or inappropriate to us or to those about whom we care; or it is the emotion we experience when we feel threatened. Anger is usually accompanied by a great deal of energy which when unmanaged often causes hurt, fear, misunderstanding, hard feelings and broken relationships. The Family Life Bureau at Catholic Charities conducts classes in Anger Management on a regular basis. Contact person; Mary Jo 302 655-9624.
Mother Teresa said that Christ comes to us in the distressing disguise of the poor. She also said that it is a terrible poverty that a child must die so that people might live as they wish. Taken together, I believe that the poorest of the poor are those whose poverty lies in the loss of a child. We should consider them the face of Christ in our lives and help them with a kind word, a listening ear, a healing embrace. Only love can overcome the tragedy of abortion and that love must begin with each of us.~ Carl Anderson, Supreme Knight, Knights of Columbus, Address at the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Project Rachel.

One hour a week can make an impact on a child’s life.

DIGNITY OF WORK AND RIGHTS OF WORKERS
Jean Denis and Francois are neighbors in Coteaux, Haiti. For years they barely supported their families through subsistence farming. In 2002, they joined an agricultural cooperative organized by Catholic Relief Services and began to see change. They received and planted better seed, diversified their crops, found better techniques for raising livestock, learned to combat erosion, and generated surplus crops to take to market. Now their families no longer face hunter or malnutrition. As Jesus transformed the life of the blind man, so CRS transforms the lives of rural farmers. By giving through Operation Rice Bown and purchasing Fair Trade products, you support the dignity of workers by ensuring just wages and economic self-sufficiency.

BURDEN
OF DIABETES IN DELAWARE
In
2002 the Delaware Division of Public Health released The Burden of Diabetes
in Delaware. This report
describes the devastating effects of the disease that can include amputation,
blindness, kidney failure, depression and pregnancy risk.
Recent studies show that through moderate weight loss and physical
activity, you can take control of your health.
These steps can also help to prevent heart disease and high blood
pressure. It is also important to
realize that Type 2 diabetes in children is on the rise and can lead to serious
health problems in the future. Fortunately,
the same habits that lessen the burden of diabetes in adults have the potential
to prevent the disease in our youth. For
more information call the Delaware Helpline at 1-800-464-4357, and ask for the
Diabetes Prevention and Control Program.
