Our

We currently have 6 ministers visiting 16 people in their homes and in the

consider whether or not our Lord is calling you to carry Him to those among us
too ill or infirm to join us when we assemble each week at Mass.

TRY
THIS @ HOME
When
you leave Mass with your family on Sunday do you get the feeling that your
children or even you are not getting what you should out of it? Before your
family kicks into their Sunday schedule of activities try sharing your thoughts
on the Mass in the car ride home. You can ask your children what they thought of
the homily or what was the most meaningful part for them. It may seem difficult
at first to get the conversation going, but if you make it a weekly practice you
will find your children (and yourself) being more attentive during Mass
CHRISTIAN FORMATION COMMITTEE
One of the many
prayers of St. Theresa, the Little Flower, goes like this: “May there be peace
within you, and May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to
be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith, and
May you use those gifts that you have received to pass on the love that has been
given.” The Christian Formation Committee (CFC) invites you to join us as we
share the gifts that have been given us by God. Please leave your name and phone
number at the church office.
PARKING LOT

appropriately.

Tip 47: Sacraments are major milestones in a young person’s life. While
they probably do not remember their Baptism they will certainly remember their
First Eucharist and Confirmation. Help make these important milestones in their
faith development by remembering the anniversaries and discussing what impact
the sacraments have had on their life and how they will shape them in the
future.
An electronic newsletter of Religious Education articles and updates named
Two For Tuesday is emailed weekly to registered families. If you would like to
be included on the email listing please email Dawn Curtiss at dcurtisscre@aol.com and she will see that you receive the newsletter.

Recently, members of St
Bernadette K of C Auxiliary baked cookies for all of the residents of the
Delaware Veteran's Home in
Milford
. This is the third time they have distributed cookies there, much to the
delight of the residents. Sugar free cookies were made for those residents on
special diets. A total of 118 bags were done up and cookies were delivered to
each resident. The residents were told it was our way of saying thank you for
what the veterans have done of our country. It was a joy to see the delight on
their faces. One gentleman, a diabetic, when told the cookies were sugar free,
especially for him, immediately bit into one and beamed. "This is
heaven," he said between bites.

LAKE FOREST
CHURCH
ASSOCIATION/FOOD PANTRY
Your continued support of the Lake Forest Church Association Food Pantry
is very much appreciated. In April, we provided for 238 families, 38 of which
came to us for the first time. Our current needs are peanut butter & jelly,
vegetables, tuna and cereal. Donations have dropped off dramatically since the
holidays, but the need continues to grow. If you know of a family in need, call
302-222-8404 toll free. Strict confidentiality is maintained. HELP
NEEDED The Lake Forest Food Pantry is in need of volunteers
for packing food orders and taking telephone calls. We have 5 openings for
Tuesday or Thursday mornings,
9 am to 12:30
, once a month. Please consider volunteering once a month to help us continue
this worthy ministry. The need grows every day. Call Anne Paladino 398-4285.
St. Bernadette’s will once again
be serving as a collection site for Catholic Charities semi-annual “Stock the
Pantry” project, which will be held during the month of June. Parishioners are
encouraged to donate non-perishable food items such as canned meats, soups,
fruits, and vegetables; boxes of pasta, cereal, baking mixes; jars of peanut
butter and jelly, coffee, tea, powdered milk. Food items should be dropped off
in the specially marked boxes located in the Hall and Church vestibule. Many of
our sisters and brothers throughout the Diocese are struggling to meet their
basic needs during these difficult economic times. Help Catholic Charities to
provide help and create hope by donating to the “Stock the Pantry” project.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY/GROTTO NEWS
Phase II of the Grotto has
been completed. Please stop by and see how beautiful it turned out. Thanks to
Larry Legates and his work men, the new memorial bricks have been installed. A
total of 32 new bricks have been have been added. They did a beautiful job for
the Grotto. Thanks to Larry and his men from all of us at St. Bernadette's
Church.

continue taking orders for bricks. They make a wonderful memorial as well as
help support the growth of the Grotto area and it's maintained. The 4 X
8 inch
brick costs $50.00 and gives you 3 lines of 21 letters or spaces. The larger
brick, 8 X
8 inches
, will allow 6 lines with 21 letters or spaces each and that cost is $100.00.
Donations are always very welcome. Thank you for your support which has gotten
us this far without using any funds from our church offertory or treasury.
Please feel free to call with any questions, Anne Paladino 302-398-4285.
We
are very close to placing our brick order for the year. If you plan on ordering
a brick please get in touch with us as soon as possible. If you have already
